Training for Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Services Division
NCDET offers several training experiences designed to prepare professionals with skills necessary for providing employment-related supports for people with developmental disabilities.

This introductory course on employment offers participants the basics of supporting job seekers or workers in jobs in the community.

This three-day course in basic job coaching builds upon the core philosophy of the prerequisite General Employment Training and includes the skills basic to assisting job seekers to get and keep jobs in the community.

This one-day training is required for staff seeking to complete the Employment Specialist Certification. Both Get and ETSO1 are required prerequisites for attending. Approximately 4 sessions are scheduled each year.

Each year NCDET offers advanced supported employment training for professionals serving people with disabilities.

Program Manager Training (PMT):
This one-day training is designed to prepare Program Managers with the basic skills and knowledge needed to lead employment (vocational) services within their provider agency. Approximately four sessions are scheduled each year.
Supported Employment Conference
Each
year NCDET has assisted with the coordination and organization of
a conference on supported employment. The annual Conference is
hosted by the Oklahoma APSE Network on Employment (APSE-Association for People in Supported Employment) which
collaborates with several state agencies, foundations and private
non-profit organizations in sponsoring the event. With the
assistance of NCDET the Conference has grown to become the largest
state conference of its kind in the nation.
