DDSD Advanced Supported Employment Training
Each year NCDET offers advanced supported employment training for professionals serving people with disabilities. Trainings are generally offered in a one or two day format. Topics are intended to fit the current needs of the professionals supporting community work. Trainings in the past have included: person centered planning, positive behavioral supports, situational assessments, job site analysis, job matching, teaching/training techniques, building natural supports, assistive technology and worksite modifications, marketing and job development, rural supported employment techniques, and PASS and IRWE Social Security incentives. Instruction is delivered by NCDET training staff and contracted expert consultants.
