Through "Meeting the Needs of People with Disabilities in the Workforce System," workforce staff acquire new skills to improve services to a potential pool of qualified workers, individuals with disabilities. The classes are delivered in a flexible curriculum designed to respond to timeframes and needs of the audience. Through these classes, participants acquire an understanding of a broad range of topics, from the basics of disability awareness to practical application of Section 188 to the hands-on tools required to deliver customized employment services to individuals with disabilities to become successfully employed. The coursework is designed to bring partners in the workforce system together in the same class to build collaboration and to provide a framework for addressing local needs in a practical way in which participants learn from one another.
