Youth
Programs
Through the programs and services of the National Center for Disability Education and Training (NCDET), youth and young adults with disabilities enjoy opportunities to learn new skills that will help them prepare for transition from school to work, post-secondary education, careers, and full participation in society. Youth participate in leadership training academies, recreation, mentoring services, community service projects, and other opportunities that build skills, communication, and the confidence to succeed.
Youth and young adults with disabilities are currently served at NCDET through three grant programs: Play Matters, Oklahoma Transition to Education and Employment through Mentoring (OK-TEEM), Tech Success and the Oklahoma Alliance for Youth (OKAY Project). Please visit our webpages for these projects for more detailed information about the exciting opportunities they present for young people with disabilities in central and southwest Oklahoma.
